Kenyir Monster attracting anglers from as far as Europe - Great or Dumb ??

Kenyir Monster attracting anglers from as far as Europe

Shared via AddThis

Certainly the tragic unfold at Lake Kenyir was no more than sadness to the lost by the family members of the two that went missing. Sincerely I express sympathy to the lost of the two men with bitter experience of losing my grandfather to cancer 17 years ago!

He was my best friend, my tutor, my guardian and almost everything in my life then as I was the only one in the family with my parent’s busy working. Having to lose this best friend of mine, the pain was unbearable but it is God's will.

For me the tragic incident in Kenyir is simply going out of control with no scientific evidence ever in indicating that Arapaima attacks boat or human. Even there is any, how frequent will that be and this fish by nature does not and do not possess the capability to kill a human. Let it be a lone, the world largest fresh water fish is facing extinction in its own habitat in Amazon. Now with a huge bounty cast over the life of this near extinct fish without a solid evidence in proofing that they are the 'murderer'. What is left for the future of this species???

Let it be alone of this species, what about the potential collateral damage may incur from this huge bounty of RM10,000 or more as intended by the State Government. Local fishes and environment may potential suffer from this good will intention.

Surely with local fishes such as Toman(Snakehead), Sebarau, and others will be accidentally caught. And with the lack of promotion for Catch & Release (CnR) and preservation and conversation for local species, certainly the numbers of the local fishes will deteriorate at an accelerated speed due to the heavy fishing pressure! And moreover, with heavy fishing pressure, human will be polluting the nature and does this coincide with the intention by the Federal Government to promote green and environmental conversation??

This is simply sad to foresee the potential catastrophic which may happen out from the noble cause of putting a bounty on the head of the suspected 'murderer'. Although as an avid angler, it would be awesome to be pitting against the beast. But on the other hand, I would like future generation of angler would be able to enjoy the fun of striking toman and sebarau as we do now. On the other thought, why can't the respective Departments run their own programs in capturing this so called 'murderers' instead of putting a price tag on the Arapaima? In return how will the world look at the professionalism put forth by our country in handling our very own fish matter? Since Malaysia is a heaven for anglers with abundance of lakes and eco system.

Certainly more could be done rather than trying to hunt for the suspected murderer (in this manner) and in the same time, incurring collateral damages to our beloved local species and environment. This is already a tedious task in sustaining the current situation and let it be in future.

Malaysian Fruits....

The early season for local fruits delight....

Was planning for some exercise after a long spell of couch potato ing and what else better than taking a stroll on the hill which has gave me much fond memories. Not mentioning that it also gave me much pleasure each time I went there for the sight, music (bird chirping, winds) and the exhaustion's... :-)

Complementing the hike, was to take some photos which is good to share and sceptic that this view maybe lost forever with the rapid development in the surrounding areas. Wonder what is there to develop, since the surroundings are hills. Unless all of are us so eager to repeat the Highland Tower incident. Human never learns right?? Especially coming to monie...

Nevertheless, for this post is gonna be only the fun thing...

It's certainly nice to know that durian season is just around the corner. Thou I am not a big
durian fan, but for many such as my parents, my girlfriend (Durian Queen) and others are looking forward to the season. Still fresh from my memory whereby last year, when I was in Pahang for Sail Fish with Baba, Richard, Ek, Georgie and Janet. We had so many durians and poor Ek was the lone ranger disliking the King Of Fruits.

Well I guess he had a torrid time whereby Burpzz are imminent after a sumptuous meal of durian....Those durians we had are great as it taste differently from those origin Penang. Or perhaps dining durian with a bunch of Potbellies....

Taking pictures of this early season durians gave me the similar pleasure as putting them into my tummy and hoping that durian farmers will be having a bumper harvest this year. Hehe... Then only we can enjoy cheap and good durians! Goal for this year durian season, to have a ANG HEH (Red Prawn) where the flesh are orange in colour. Droooling!

Here is another seasonal fruits complementing durian. This fruit is known as Rambutan. Literally Rambut means Hair. Well I guess this is where it got the name.

Mischievously, if you put two rambutan together and figure what does it looks alike... Hahah....

Leaving that alone, I'm totally a not a fan of this fruits due to ;

1) A lot of ants.
2) Less flesh with big seed.

Thou when this fruit is ripe, the colour turns red and it a nice to look at it with the reminiscence to Apple. Perhaps it should be known also as Apple of Tropical. LoL.

Ending up with part of the aerial view of the evergreen, Paya Terubong aka Long Boey area...

P/s: Sorry for the picture quality as then it wasn't then best time to shoot with rain clouds approaching...
